Data Meshes suck you into three fallacies:
the need for a data mesh in the first place
the need for a (fat) platform
the need for lots of coupling inside the platform (to make it “cheap”)
I wrote a blog post just about these fallacies, what you can do to navigate around them, and what you can do if you’ve already fallen for one of them!
Since my writing on data meshes got a bit overwhelming, I decided to put up a short collection of what I’ve written so far, check it out if you’re interested in it!
I also started to really enjoy writing really short pieces in my newsletter, and really long pieces on medium which got lots of positive feedback.
Turns out, however, medium isn’t the best place to host a heterogeneous set of content, so I decided to consolidate all of my writing in one place, my blog datacisions.com. That leaves me to more thinking, and writing, and less “trying to fit in”.
