In Case You Missed It June 2024
How to Escape Data Flatland
We have lost the way of data long ago. The age of information combined with modern technology screwed us over; the abundance of information made us incapable of working with it. We’re like rich children with so many toys that we cannot truly enjoy playing with any single one.
But that wasn’t always the case. When we return to the age of scarce information, we can learn how to use data and AI properly.
Books on Strategy, Habit Building Products and Alignment
Scary, funny, informative. That’s a good description of most of the 30 or so books I’ve read in the first quarter of 2024.
So today, I want to share the ones I found to have the biggest impact on my thinking on the data science and AI space. I’ll try to highlight who should read each book because I don’t think there’s any book everyone should read.
Make Less Data-Driven Decisions
I call it data-driven minimalism. I’m serious. Ignore all the stuff you’ve been underpinning with data, and discard all your dashboards and projects. Choose just a single decision, and go all in. Pour all your data and all your data efforts into this single decision and make it a good one.
Until next week,
