The Capital One comparison realy hits home. They built a decisin system first and used data to support it, while Yahoo hired someone to figure out what to do with data after the fact. Seeing this pattern repeat with AI roles is sobering. The 30 month churn cycle for Chief Data Officers should be a huge warning sign. Your pivot from AI campaigns to knowlege management makes perfect sense when you think about it this way. Companies need to solve for institutional knowledge loss first, then layer AI on top as an enhancer.
